Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic IT Security Analyst to join our growing team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting our systems and data, ensuring the security of network infrastructures, and responding to incidents swiftly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments on the infrastructure.
• Implement intrusion detection and prevention systems for early threat detection.
• Liaise with external vendors for security solutions and support.
• Continuously improve and update security policies to align with industry standards.
• Participate in incident response drills to ensure preparedness.
• Compile and present security reports to management.
• Conduct penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in systems.
• Support compliance efforts with local and international standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles

Technical Skills

• Firewalls and VPNs
• Data Encryption

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• AWS Certified Security – Specialty
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Ability to work under pressure: Capable of maintaining composure and effectiveness under stressful conditions.
• Experience with SIEM tools: Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management systems.
