Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Civil Engineer to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on construction projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers and other engineers to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of various civil engineering projects.
• Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure that projects are completed on schedule and to budget.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data.
• Review and approve construction plans and drawings.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
• Facilitate communication between project stakeholders.
• Prepare cost estimates and budget reports.
• Advocate for sustainable practices within the engineering team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Civil 3D

• Leadership
• Analytical Thinking

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with structural design software: Experience with software like SAP2000 or similar for structural analysis.
