Job Description

Caring Hands Home Support is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will provide personal care services to clients in the comfort of their homes, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in daily living activities such as bathing and dressing.
• Assist in the administration of medications and monitor clients' reactions.
• Document clients' health records and activities accurately.
• Encourage and engage clients in physical and social activities.
• Help in meal preparation and assist clients with dietary needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the clients' living spaces.
• Provide companionship to promote mental well-being.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
• Collaborate with family members regarding clients' care.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Home Health Aide is preferred

Experience

• Previous experience in home health care or caregiving is preferred

Technical Skills

• Basic First Aid
• Health Monitoring

Soft Skills

• Compassionate Communication
• Time Management

Certifications

• Home Health Aide Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with elderly care: Prior experience caring for the elderly is an asset.
