Job Description

The Draper will be responsible for creating custom-made window treatments and soft furnishings for residential and commercial clients. This role requires a keen eye for design and excellent sewing skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult and communicate with clients to ascertain their fabric needs and styles.
• Sketch initial designs and present material choices to clients.
• Conduct precise measurements for window fittings.
• Research and procure suitable fabrics and supplies.
• Utilize industrial machinery and sewing tools effectively.
• Work alongside other craftsmen, including members of the design team.
• Ensure the workspace remains orderly and well-maintained.
• Prioritize multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
• Stay informed on advancements and trends in the textile industry.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in a relevant field such as Design or Textile Engineering
• Further qualifications in interior design or upholstery preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in textile creation

Technical Skills

• Expertise in Sewing Techniques
• CAD Software
