Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Job Description

We're on the lookout for an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards in research facilities. This role involves conducting safety inspections, developing and implementing safety programs, and providing safety training to employees.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local and national safety regulations.
• Review and approve research proposals for safety concerns.
• Perform regular safety audits and inspections.
• Coordinate with external agencies for regulatory compliance.
• Provide ongoing training and guidance to staff regarding safety practices.
• Create and update safety manuals and procedures.
• Lead safety drills and emergency response training.
• Document and report all safety incidents.
• Advocate for continuous improvement in safety practices.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is preferred

Experience

• Experience in research facilities or related industry.

Technical Skills

• Statistical analysis software proficiency
• Research management software experience

Advantageous

• Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety: Postgraduate studies in a relevant field to enhance qualifications.
