Electrical Systems Planner

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Systems Planner to join our Cape Town office. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the planning and coordination of electrical systems in various projects, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain electrical schematics and layouts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project goals efficiently.
• Perform energy calculations and simulations for proposed designs.
• Review and approve electrical work performed by contractors.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure adherence to the electrical plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide training as needed.
• Prepare and present project proposals to stakeholders.
• Participate in project meetings to communicate progress and address challenges.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5-7 years in electrical engineering with a focus on planning

Technical Skills

• Power Systems Analysis
• Renewable Energy Systems

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is a plus
• LEED Accreditation is beneficial

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in renewable energy projects: Hands-on experience with photovoltaic and wind energy projects.
• Knowledge of building automation systems: Familiarity with smart building technologies and their integration.
