Penetration Tester

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to join our dynamic cybersecurity team in Durban. This individual will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities in our systems and applications through thorough testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills and the ability to think like a hacker.

Responsibilities

• Lead penetration testing engagements and deliver actionable results.
• Continuously refine and enhance testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure security considerations are integrated in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior members of the cybersecurity team.
• Participate in security conferences and local meetups to enhance team's knowledge.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in penetration testing and threat assessment

Technical Skills

• Scripting Languages (Python, Bash)
• Incident Response

Soft Skills

• Problem Solving
• Team Player

Certifications

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with cloud security: Familiarity with cloud services security practices and assessments.
• Knowledge of advanced persistent threats (APTs): Ability to identify and respond to sophisticated attacks.
