Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic research team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting innovative experiments, analyzing results, and collaborating with various departments to push the boundaries of scientific research.

Responsibilities

• Lead laboratory research projects from conception to execution.
• Assess and adapt experimental protocols for improved outcomes.
• Document and communicate research progress with team members.
• Drive innovation by exploring new scientific approaches.
• Ensure laboratory cleanliness and orderliness in compliance with regulations.
• Participate in external collaborations and academic partnerships.
• Provide insights into product development based on lab findings.
• Monitor and adjust laboratory practices for efficiency and compliance.
• Promote teamwork and knowledge sharing within the lab environment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field
• PhD in a relevant field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in laboratory research

Technical Skills

• Molecular Biology
• Instrumentation
• Quality Assurance

• Communication Skills

Certifications

• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting: Hands-on experience working in a regulated clinical laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of bioinformatics tools: Familiarity with bioinformatics software for data interpretation.
