Animation Director

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Animation Director to lead our creative team in Johannesburg. As the Animation Director, you will oversee all aspects of the animation process, from concept development to final production. You'll work collaboratively with artists, animators, and clients to create compelling animation that captivates audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate animation projects, ensuring quality and consistency across all outputs.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sound and design, to enhance the overall production.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Conduct regular team meetings to review progress and address any challenges.
• Manage the animation pipeline and implement improvements where necessary.
• Stay current with industry trends and techniques to innovate our animation workflows.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Animation or related field
• Master's degree in Animation or Creative Arts is preferred

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in animation with a robust portfolio.

Certifications

• Autodesk Certified User

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in game animation: Experience in animating for video games, understanding game mechanics.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine: Knowledge of using Unreal Engine for animation projects.
