Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and operate data pipelines and workflows.
• Identify data integration needs and implement solutions.
• Ensure robust data governance and compliance with data policies.
• Collaborate with IT to support data infrastructure.
• Evaluate and integrate new data technologies and platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Facilitate training sessions on new data tools and methodologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related field

Technical Skills

• AWS Data Pipeline
• Kafka
• R

Soft Skills

• Effective communication

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with NoSQL databases.: Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
