Job Description

As a Dresser, you will play a crucial role in the performing arts, assisting actors with costume changes during shows and ensuring that all costumes are well-maintained and organized. Your attention to detail and ability to work under pressure will be vital to our productions.

Responsibilities

  • Support actors with costume changes, ensuring quick transitions.
  • Monitor costume condition throughout performances, making adjustments as needed.
  • Manage and update costume inventory lists for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the production team to create efficient costume workflows.
  • Keep dressing areas organized and stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
  • Contribute to pre-show costume checks to confirm readiness.
  • Assist in the styling of costumes and accessories to enhance overall presentation.
  • Communicate effectively with cast and crew to facilitate smooth performances.
  • Attend production meetings to discuss upcoming show needs and challenges.
  • Document and report any costume issues or maintenance needs promptly.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Formal training in costume design or related field (advantageous)
Experience
  • Experience in wardrobe management or historical fashion is a plus.
Technical Skills
