Bookkeeper

Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining general ledger accounts. This role requires a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills. The successful applicant will work closely with the finance team to support the overall financial health of our company.

Responsibilities

• Record all financial transactions promptly and accurately.
• Prepare financial summaries and reporting schedules.
• Assist in the reconciliation of financial discrepancies.
• Manage vendor accounts and ensure timely payments.
• Contribute to financial planning and analysis activities.
• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Maintain knowledge of current regulations affecting bookkeeping.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
• Facilitate communication between finance and other teams.
• Ensure audit readiness by maintaining comprehensive records.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

Experience

• Minimum 3 years in a bookkeeping role

• Finance Certification
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus
