Job Description

We are searching for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our Durban practice. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating animal ailments, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in veterinary medicine and a genuine love for animals.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose animal diseases and provide treatment and surgical care.
  • Perform health assessments on animals and interpret laboratory test results.
  • Support the training and development of junior veterinary staff.
  • Manage the clinic's inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Conduct follow-ups on animal health and recovery.
  • Work with pet owners to develop preventive care strategies.
  • Participate in surgical procedures, anesthesia, and recovery monitoring.
  • Document all veterinary procedures and updates in patient records.
  • Advise on animal behavior and training when necessary.
  • Ensure that the clinic maintains high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
  • Master's degree is advantageous
Experience
  • 4+ years of practical experience in veterinary clinics
