Actuary

Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Actuary to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be skilled in data analysis, risk assessment, and insurance solutions. You will primarily focus on evaluating financial risks and developing policies that manage these risks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct actuarial analysis to assess and mitigate financial risks.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing and forecasting.
• Provide guidance to colleagues on actuarial methodologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with underwriting teams to refine risk assessments.
• Prepare detailed reports presenting analytical findings and recommendations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Statistics
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a related actuarial role

Technical Skills

• Data Modeling
• Excel (Advanced)

• Problem-Solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Certified Actuary (CAS)
• Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience with data visualization tools: Proficiency in tools to convert data findings into visual representations.
