Special Education Teacher, Middle School

Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide targeted instruction and support for middle school students with learning disabilities. You will be pivotal in developing individualized education plans, collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure our students receive the education they deserve.

Responsibilities

• Create tailored lesson plans suited for each student’s unique learning needs.
• Facilitate a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Regularly communicate with parents regarding student progress and strategies.
• Work with school staff to promote inclusive teaching practices.
• Utilize data-driven approaches to track student performance and outcomes.
• Engage in community outreach to foster a supportive network around students.
• Incorporate technology into lessons to aid learning.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to continuous school improvement efforts.
• Develop and implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Lead workshops for staff on best practices in special education.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Master's degree in Special Education is a plus

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience with specific learning disabilities such as ADHD or dyslexia.
