Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing various civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in roadworks, drainage systems, and land surveying, and be able to work collaboratively with contractors, architects, and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects.
• Provide engineering advice and technical support to team members.
• Review and approve designs and drawings from subcontractors.
• Support the procurement process by specifying materials and equipment.
• Continuously evaluate project designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree will be beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering projects including infrastructure

Technical Skills

• Civil 3D
• Road Design

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
• LEED Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Building Codes and Regulations: Understanding of local building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D: Proficient in using AutoCAD Civil 3D for advanced engineering projects.
