Job Description

As an Actuary with us, you'll play a significant role in evaluating and mitigating risks through thorough data analysis. This role involves collaboration with various departments to develop insurance products that meet market needs, ultimately enhancing our client offerings.

Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial assessments to evaluate risk and inform financial decisions.
• Utilize data management tools and techniques to interpret complex datasets.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate actuarial insights into business strategies.
• Prepare reports and presentations showcasing actuarial results to various stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on the financial performance of new insurance products.
• Participate in regulatory compliance initiatives regarding actuarial practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
• Fellowship in the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience as an Actuary within the financial services industry

• Statistical Analysis

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with actuarial software such as Prophet: Familiarity with Prophet software for actuarial modelling and analysis.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the insurance industry: Understanding of local regulations impacting insurance and actuarial practices.
