Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to join our Port Elizabeth office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering principles, project management, and sustainable design practices. You'll play a key role in various infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and design civil engineering projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations and documentation.
• Conduct field surveys and analyze survey data.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in public meetings to discuss project impacts.
• Implement best practices for project management and design.
• Assist in the review and approval of construction plans.
• Monitor project budgets and prevent cost overruns.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5-7 years of relevant civil engineering experience

• Civil 3D
• Microsoft Project

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Mentoring Experience: Proven experience mentoring junior engineers and interns.
