Job Description

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Johannesburg office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing insurance applications, determining coverage eligibility, and ensuring the best solutions for our clients. You will play a vital role in assessing risks and making data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk evaluations for various insurance requests.
• Review application materials and client documentation.
• Collaborate with underwriting team to formulate risk strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and agents.
• Provide guidance on complex underwriting situations.
• Regularly update underwriting guidelines based on market conditions.
• Analyze data to support decision-making and portfolio management.
• Respond promptly to client queries regarding underwriting decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting

Certifications

• Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)
