Telecom Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Telecom Technician to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both wired and wireless technologies, as well as a strong understanding of network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and recommend improvements for existing telecommunication systems.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and technical knowledge.
• Coordinate with suppliers for equipment procurement and inventory management.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications
• Associates degree is a plus

Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in telecom systems

Technical Skills

• Wireless Communication
• Telecom Equipment Troubleshooting

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Certified Telecom Network Specialist (CTNS)
• Telcordia Certified Technician

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with 5G technologies: Hands-on experience with next-generation 5G technologies.
• Project Management Certification: Knowledge in project management methodologies is an advantage.
