Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Tax Consultant to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tax advice to clients, ensuring compliance with South African tax laws and regulations, and assisting with tax planning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Review the financial documents of clients to ensure compliance with tax laws.
• Prepare and maintain accurate tax documentation.
• Advise clients on the tax implications of various business decisions.
• Assist in tax audits and represent clients as necessary.
• Help in the development of tax-related policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior tax staff and interns.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax preparation.
• Prepare reports and presentations for clients and management.
• Foster a positive team environment and support colleagues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Master's degree in Taxation is a benefit

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in tax advisory roles

Technical Skills

• Compliance Analysis
• Financial Reporting

Soft Skills

• Communication Skills
• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) is an advantage
• Tax Practitioner Registration

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with financial software solutions: Experience with software packages used in financial analysis and reporting.
• Real estate tax experience: Understanding of taxation in the property sector.
