Job Description

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in structural design and analysis, with a passion for developing sustainable and efficient designs that meet the needs of our clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural assessments and determine rehabilitation needs.
• Advise on materials and structural systems for various projects.
• Lead project meetings to discuss progress and address challenges.
• Prepare proposals for potential projects and tender submissions.
• Ensure all engineering practices align with sustainability goals.
• Train and mentor junior engineers in best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering is an advantage

Experience

• At least 5 years in the field of structural engineering

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Microsoft Project

Soft Skills

• Time Management
• Team Collaboration

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of seismic design principles: Understanding of earthquake-resistant design methodologies.
• Familiarity with local building regulations and codes: Knowledge of South African building regulations.
