Job Description

We are seeking a creative and passionate Fashion Designer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong aesthetic sense and experience in creating innovative designs for our latest collections. You will play a key role in the design process, from concept to finished product, ensuring that our offerings reflect current trends and our brand ethos.

Responsibilities

• Ideate and sketch fashion concepts for our latest collections.
• Conduct thorough research on fabrics and trends.
• Create technical packs for production, including specifications.
• Assist in the selection of materials, trims, and accessories.
• Supervise and guide the production process to ensure design integrity.
• Engage in brainstorming sessions with the design team for new ideas.
• Monitor the progress of design projects and adjust timelines as necessary.
• Prepare presentations of designs for stakeholders and potential buyers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
• Additional qualifications in Marketing or Business Management are advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in apparel design

Technical Skills

• Sketching and Illustration
• Pattern Making

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Fashion Illustration Cert.
• Technical Design Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Organizing Fashion Shows: Experience in planning and executing fashion events.
• Familiarity with E-commerce Platforms: Knowledge of online retailing and merchandising.
