Desktop Support Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our growing team in Pretoria. This role requires providing top-notch technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and maintaining system integrity. Ideal candidates will possess a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and priorities customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage desktop support tickets in a timely manner.
• Provide on-site and remote support for various IT issues.
• Support user account management, including password resets and access requests.
• Ensure adherence to IT policies and procedures in support operations.
• Assist in implementing new IT projects and deployments.
• Conduct regular training sessions to keep users informed of new tools and technologies.
• Monitor and report on user feedback for system improvements.
• Liaise with other departments to enhance service effectiveness.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies that may benefit the organization.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all users.

Requirements

Education

• IT Degree or relevant qualification
• Postgraduate qualification in IT is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in desktop support

• Client Configuration

Certifications

• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Basic scripting knowledge: Understanding of Python or Bash scripting for automation tasks.
