Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our Cape Town team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and managing structural engineering projects, ensuring all designs meet safety and regulatory standards while being cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Utilize analytical tools to predict performance of structures.
• Engage in continuous professional development to enhance engineering practices.
• Advise clients on feasibility and construction methods.
• Facilitate communication between project teams and management.
• Document all stages of project development for compliance and quality assurance.

Requirements

Education

• BEng in Structural Engineering, or similar

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in related field

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Communication Skills

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in other engineering software (e.g., SAP2000, MATLAB).: Experience with various structural engineering simulation tools.
• Leadership experience in managing small teams.: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
