Job Description

We're looking for a Data Engineer to help build our data infrastructure and pipelines, ensuring high quality data availability for analytics and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to influence our data strategy in Durban.

Responsibilities

• Design effective database schemas for current and future data solutions.
• Integrate new data management technologies to improve operations.
• Conduct data validation tests to ensure accuracy.
• Support the data science team with model input and analysis.
• Document processes and workflows for long-term data management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Master's degree in Data Science or Analytics is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics roles

Certifications

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
• Tableau Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Hadoop Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with tools in the Hadoop ecosystem like Hive.
• Scripting Knowledge: Experience with shell scripting or similar scripting languages.
