Job Description

As a Chemical Safety Specialist, you will lead initiatives to improve workplace safety within our chemical engineering operations. Your expertise will be essential in identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations, ultimately fostering a safe working environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
• Provide training to staff on chemical safety practices and emergency response plans.
• Collaborate with the safety team to identify and mitigate risks.
• Track and report on safety performance metrics.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Lead investigations into safety incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies regarding safety standards and reporting.
• Offer advice on safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in chemical safety or a related field
