Job Description

Creative Studios is seeking a talented Set Designer to contribute to our innovative projects in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating visually appealing and functional sets for various productions, including film and theatre. The role demands a flair for design combined with practical knowledge of materials and space.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and themes for sets based on director’s vision.
• Create budget estimates for set design and construction.
• Present design proposals to stakeholders for approval.
• Supervise set installation and ensure all elements are functional and visually appealing.
• Document and archive set designs for future reference and productions.
• Participate in post-production wrap up, including set dismantling and inventory management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Set Designer

Technical Skills

• Lighting Design
• Set Construction Techniques

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Communication

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Sustainable Design Practices: Experience implementing sustainable materials and practices in set design.
• Experience with 3D Printing Technology: Familiarity with using 3D printing in set design projects.
