Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter who will assess risks and evaluate insurance applications to determine coverage. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze complex information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and determine risk levels for new and existing clients.
• Prepare and present underwriting recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Monitor existing policies and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Identify potential areas of exposure and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Maintain relationships with agents and brokers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Advanced insurance qualifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting, especially in commercial lines

Technical Skills

• Data Analysis
• Regulatory Knowledge

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented
• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
