Job Description

We are seeking an Atmospheric and Space Scientist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will predict and analyze space weather patterns to understand their effects on Earth-based systems. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of solar-terrestrial phenomena and its implications on radio communications and satellite operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze space weather phenomena including solar flares and coronal mass ejections.
  • Utilize observational data to predict space weather impacts on technology.
  • Prepare advisories and updates on space weather conditions for public and governmental stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on research studies aiming to improve forecasting methodologies.
  • Participate in seminars and educational outreach about space weather effects.
  • Maintain high accuracy in forecasting and data reporting.
  • Advance knowledge in statistical modeling for better prediction accuracy.
  • Engage in community and educational outreach regarding space sciences.
  • Collaborate with international organisations for shared data and methodologies.
  • Work on rotating shifts, sometimes including weekends.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Space Science, Atmospheric Science, or related field
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Space Physics or related discipline is preferred
Experience
  • 2-5 years in space weather analysis and forecasting

Languages
