Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our busy practice in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of animal medical conditions, along with performing surgical procedures. Passion for animal health and well-being is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead surgical operations and ensure proper aftercare.
• Identify health issues in animals and develop treatment strategies.
• Advise on vaccinations, nutrition, and general animal care.
• Keep abreast of the latest veterinary practices and technology.
• Engage in community outreach and pet health workshops.
• Manage records and communicate findings to other staff.

Requirements

Education

• Veterinary Medicine degree (BVSc or equivalent)
• Additional qualifications in specialty areas are advantageous.

Experience

• Experience with both surgical and non-surgical animal care.

Technical Skills

• Anesthesia Management
• Emergency Response

• Leadership
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Veterinary Specialty Certification (if any)
• Basic Life Support certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
