Job Description

We are seeking an IT Security Engineer to bolster our cybersecurity team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of security protocols, threat analysis, and risk assessment strategies to protect our organisational assets. Your role involves monitoring network security, implementing security policies, and leading efforts to mitigate potential security breaches.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistency in the application of security policies across the organization.
  • Actively research security trends and implement necessary updates.
  • Provide technical support and consultancy on security issues to project teams.
  • Implement and manage encryption methods for sensitive data.
  • Track user access and manage permissions for sensitive information.
  • Prepare reports on security breaches and recommended improvements.
  • Advise on security architecture decisions for new systems.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or Information Security
  • Relevant certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles
