Job Description

We are seeking an IT Security Engineer to bolster our cybersecurity team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of security protocols, threat analysis, and risk assessment strategies to protect our organisational assets. Your role involves monitoring network security, implementing security policies, and leading efforts to mitigate potential security breaches.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
• Monitor security incidents and respond to alerts.
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Maintain and update security tools and applications.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure security best practices.
• Train staff on security protocols and best practices.
• Conduct penetration testing and simulate attacks to identify weaknesses.
• Investigate and report security breaches and compromises.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or Information Security
• Relevant certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles
