Job Description

As an Underwriter in Durban, you'll play a vital role in our insurance operations by assessing risks associated with insurance policies. Your analytical skills will determine the acceptability of insurance submissions according to company guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed risk assessments on insurance applications.
• Determine coverage as per policy guidelines.
• Prepare detailed written reports on underwriting decisions.
• Interact with the sales team to provide updates on underwriting status.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding insurance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within underwriting procedures.
• Participate in the development of underwriting policies.
• Review and recommend improvements for insurance product offerings.
• Engage in training and development opportunities to stay updated on industry standards.
• Effectively manage time and workload to meet deadlines.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience
