Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to join our Johannesburg office. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing construction projects, ensuring they meet all structural and safety standards. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to generate comprehensive designs and reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present engineering design solutions to clients.
• Execute detailed calculations and design computations.
• Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and interns.
• Participate in quality control and assurance processes.
• Evaluate existing structures for rehabilitation or retrofitting.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies.
• Adhere to health and safety standards during all project phases.
• Facilitate communication between all stakeholders involved.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in Engineering Management preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• SolidWorks

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Creative Thinking

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Certification
• Professional Engineer (PE) License

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in BIM (Building Information Modeling): Proficiency in BIM technologies for enhanced project collaboration.
