Environmental Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Environmental Scientist to join our team in Pretoria. You will play a pivotal role in assessing and improving environmental practices, conducting research, and supporting projects that promote sustainability and compliance with environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental risks and develop mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with engineers and urban planners on sustainable designs.
• Training and educating staff on environmental policies.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate environmental conditions.
• Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders to facilitate permits and compliance.
• Identify funding opportunities for environmental projects.
• Develop communication strategies to promote environmental initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management or related field
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting or management

Technical Skills

• Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
• Project Management

Certifications

• Environmental Management System (EMS) Certification

• English: Fluent
