Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risks, and determining appropriate coverage for clients. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our insurance offerings meet regulatory standards and client needs while contributing to the overall profitability of the company.

Responsibilities

• Review and process insurance applications with attention to detail.
• Evaluate risk exposure and determine appropriate premiums.
• Work closely with sales teams to ensure client satisfaction.
• Prepare and present underwriting reports to management.
• Develop and refine underwriting guidelines for various products.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints related to underwriting decisions.
• Contribute to the development of new insurance products.
• Participate in team meetings and strategic planning sessions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting and risk assessment

Technical Skills

• Insurance Knowledge

Certifications

• Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)

Languages

• English: Fluent
