Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Structural Engineer to join our Durban office. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of engineering principles and experience with structural design and analysis. You will be responsible for creating effective structural solutions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and peer evaluations of structural projects.
• Stay updated with advancements in materials and engineering techniques.
• Serve as a technical expert and mentor for junior engineers.
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory submissions and approvals.
• Work closely with surveyors to assess site feasibility.
• Utilize 3D modeling software to create visual representations of projects.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Professional registration preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• Civil 3D
• Matlab

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Project Coordination

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of local building regulations: Familiarity with South African building codes and standards.
• Experience with structural inspections: Ability to conduct on-site inspections and assessments.
