Job Description

We are looking for a Tandem Mill Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining milling equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Your expertise is crucial for facilitating smooth and efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise tandem mill operations, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and tools to ensure optimal function.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to schedule preventative maintenance.
• Compile daily production reports and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Assist in training new staff on proper operating protocols and safety practices.

Requirements

Education

• Matric / High School Diploma
• Technical qualification in mechanical or industrial engineering is a plus.

Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of PLC systems
• Use of measuring instruments

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Adaptability

Advantageous

• Prior experience in heavy manufacturing: Experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of steel production processes: Familiarity with the processes involved in steel manufacturing.
