Stable Attendant

Job Description

Looking for a passionate Stable Attendant to manage the care of horses at our farm. Responsibilities include feeding, exercising, and maintaining a clean environment for our equine partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of feeding schedules and feeding portions for each horse.
• Regular grooming including brushing and bathing.
• Implement exercise regimes prescribed by equestrian trainers.
• Conduct regular inspections of stable conditions and horse health.
• Document any changes in horse behavior or health status.
• Ensure all stable equipment is cleaned and properly stored.
• Assist with preparation for events and competitions if needed.
• Promote safe working practices around horses and equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in handling various breeds and knowledge of equine nutrition preferred.

Technical Skills

• Equine Health Knowledge
• Stable Systems

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Basic Equine First Aid
• Driving License (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with different horse breeds: Hands-on experience with a variety of horse breeds and care requirements.
• Knowledge of equine nutrition: Understanding of horse dietary needs and feeding regimes.
