Barge Loader

Job Description

As a Barge Loader, you will be responsible for loading and unloading cargo on and off barges. Your role is vital in ensuring that all cargo is secured safely, balanced, and handled efficiently. We are looking for individuals who are strong, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload cargoes with a focus on safety and quality.
• Ensure the dock area is clear and free from hazards.
• Coordinate with crane operators for smooth loading processes.
• Support the maintenance of an effective inventory control.
• Participate in training for equipment operation and safety standards.
• Assist in the mooring and unmooring of barges.
• Record equipment usage and report any malfunctions immediately.

Requirements

Education

• Valid driver's license

Experience

• Experience operating machinery is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Forklift operation
• Safety regulations knowledge

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Physical fitness

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior experience in logistics or transportation: Experience in a similar industry will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of maritime operations: A basic understanding of shipping processes is preferred.
