Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing structures and provide recommendations for improvements or renovations.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in engineering technology.
• Assist in preparing project budgets and timelines.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure team adherence to best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support sustainability initiatives in design and material selection.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or closely related field
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of structural engineering experience

Technical Skills

• Reinforced Concrete Design
• Steel Design

Certifications

• Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM): Experience in using BIM for design and documentation processes.
