Tree Worker

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Tree Worker who will be responsible for trimming, pruning, and removing trees to ensure a safe and visually appealing environment. The successful candidate will work with a variety of tools, including chainsaws and climbing equipment, and may be required to assess the health of trees and recommend treatment.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree trimming and pruning to promote healthy growth
• Safely remove dangerous trees while adhering to local regulations
• Evaluate the condition of trees and provide appropriate care advice
• Utilize chainsaws and climbing equipment in a safe manner
• Engage in community outreach to educate on tree health
• Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects
• Document all services rendered for client records
• Work with landscaping teams for integrated services

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• National Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent is an asset

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscaping or similar field

Technical Skills

• Pesticide Application
• Equipment Maintenance

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience operating heavy machinery: Preferred background in using equipment such as chippers or stump grinders.
• Leadership experience: Experience in supervising a small crew is a plus.
