Public Health Officer

Job Description

As a Public Health Officer in Bloemfontein, you will lead efforts in disease prevention, health education, and community outreach. You are expected to analyze health trends, report findings, and implement proactive health initiatives that cater to community needs.

Responsibilities

• Identify public health needs through research and data collection.
• Implement community health initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Assess program outcomes and recommend improvements.
• Provide resources and support for health education initiatives.
• Engage with community leaders to promote health initiatives.
• Evaluate community access to health resources and barriers.
• Assist in developing health regulations and policies.
• Document and report on health program results and challenges.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree in Health Promotion is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in health program management

Technical Skills

• Program Evaluation
• Health Policy

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)
• Lean Six Sigma Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in health communication: Knowledge in crafting effective health communication strategies.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans.
