Job Description

We are seeking a talented Urban Planner to join our dynamic team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban design and planning, with a passion for sustainable development. You will play a critical role in shaping and enhancing our urban spaces, working closely with community stakeholders to ensure the needs of the city are met.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct land use studies and analyze urban development trends.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create development plans.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for community meetings.
  • Review zoning regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Design urban spaces that meet the needs of diverse communities.
  • Manage planning projects from conception through completion.
  • Interface with local government and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct impact assessments for proposed developments.
  • Develop community engagement strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Town Planning or relevant discipline
  • Master's in Urban Planning or related field is preferred

  • 5+ years of professional urban planning experience
