Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our Johannesburg team, where you will help individuals improve their daily functioning and enhance their quality of life. You will work closely with patients recovering from injury, illness, or those facing developmental challenges. Your expertise will support patients in regaining independence through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document clients' needs through interviews and assessments.
• Plan, implement, and monitor therapeutic activities and interventions.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
• Provide recommendations for equipment and home modifications.
• Educate clients on strategies to enhance their well-being.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of occupational therapy frameworks and methodologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in occupational therapy

• Rehabilitation Principles

Soft Skills

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Advanced Life Support (ALS)
• Mental Health First Aid

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Background in mental health therapy: Experience or training in mental health support within occupational therapy.
• Community health experience: Experience working in community health settings to promote wellness.
