Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to maintain and optimize our manufacturing processes in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance and a passion for improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to enhance equipment longevity.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Oversee maintenance work conducted by external vendors.
  • Compile reports on maintenance activities and present findings to management.
  • Ensure timely servicing of equipment as per schedules.
  • Assist in training and developing maintenance personnel.
  • Introduce innovative maintenance technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on new installations and upgrades.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for the maintenance department.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Mechanical Engineering technology diploma or equivalent
  • Post-graduate qualification preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment focusing on maintenance engineering
