Job Description

We are seeking an Actuary to join our Johannesburg team. In this role, you will be responsible for analysing financial risk and providing insights for our insurance products. You will apply advanced statistical techniques to assess risk, and contribute to our financial forecasting and planning strategies. If you have a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and insurance, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments to determine financial consequences.
• Develop and implement innovative insurance solutions.
• Lead projects aimed at improving data accuracy and reporting efficiencies.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders for risk management reviews.
• Train and mentor junior actuaries and analysts.
• Prepare and present findings to senior management.
• Evaluate long-term trends that affect risk management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in an actuarial or similar analytical role

Technical Skills

• Predictive Analytics
• Excel and Power BI

Certifications

• Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
• ISO 31000 Compliance Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
