Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will oversee compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace, promoting a culture of safety and environmental policies. You will conduct regular safety audits, develop training programmes, and ensure the effective implementation of safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
• Ensure safety equipment is maintained and readily available.
• Prepare and submit compliance documentation to regulatory agencies.
• Provide support for audits and inspections by external agencies.
• Advise on health and safety implications of projects and processes.
• Promote awareness of health and safety initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Health and Safety are beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years in health and safety roles or relevant industries
