Job Description

As an Environmental Coordinator based in Johannesburg, you will be pivotal in overseeing compliance with environmental regulations and implementing sustainable practices across various operational projects. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of environmental policies, whilst providing support to ensure ongoing compliance. You will work closely with stakeholders to lead initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to local and international environmental regulations.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and reporting.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation.
• Assist in waste management and reduction strategies.
• Coordinate with the health and safety teams to align practices.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and community outreach programs.
• Implement and monitor environmental management systems.
• Advise on best practices for sustainable resource use.
• Support the sustainability reporting process for stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant environmental field
• Master's degree in Environmental Policy preferred

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years in environmental management or compliance-related roles
