Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter with a knack for numbers and an eye for risk assessment. In this role, you will review submissions, determine acceptability, and set policy conditions. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks for new policies and renewals to determine coverage terms.
• Support claims department with underwriting expertise as needed.
• Prepare reports and analyses of underwriting results and trends.
• Advise on technical issues relating to underwriting best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements in underwriting processes.
• Participate in training and development programs within the underwriting department.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional certification (CPCU, AU, etc.) is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in underwriting or risk assessment
